WEDDING DRESS MAKING
How Is a Mediha Cambaz Wedding Dress Created?
Every wedding dress crafted in our atelier goes through a nine-stage journey, from the very first consultation to the final fitting. Technology helps streamline our processes, but at every stage there is the touch of a master artisan who understands the soul of the fabric and decides the direction of each stitch.
At our design and production center in Bursa Nilüfer, we work with a team of more than 20 specialized artisans. Our pattern makers, tailors, and embroidery masters dedicate 10 to 25 days of uninterrupted craftsmanship to a single couture wedding dress, depending on the complexity of the design.
Step-by-Step Production Process
1. Initial Consultation and Style Definition
During our first meeting with the bride, we discuss the wedding date, venue concept, and her dream silhouette. While our style consultants and showroom managers guide you throughout the process, Mediha Cambaz personally takes part in the technical decisions and creative vision behind each design. For our brides living abroad or in different cities, we carry out this process through high-resolution online consultations as part of our bespoke online service.

2. Body Analysis and Measurements
We never rely on standard size charts; instead, we perform a precise body analysis for each bride. Beyond bust, waist, and hip measurements, we consider shoulder structure, posture, neck length, and even how the bride will move and dance on her wedding day.

3. Creating a Personalized Pattern
Every wedding dress in our atelier is created from a pattern developed exclusively for that bride. We never modify a ready-made pattern. Even if two brides choose the same design, their patterns are entirely unique because every body is different. This is one of the fundamental aspects that distinguishes Mediha Cambaz Bridal from industrial production.
4. Fabric and Material Selection
Once the pattern is finalized, the fabrics that define the character of the design are selected. Our fabric architecture includes timeless French laces, flowing Italian silks, and exclusive textiles crafted by heritage wedding fabric manufacturers. Our brides can touch the fabrics and observe their appearance under natural daylight. For the internal structure and support, we prefer Bursa’s world-renowned satins.

5. Cutting
Once the fabric and pattern are matched, the cutting stage begins. This is the most irreversible step of the process, as even a one-millimeter deviation can affect the drape of the gown. In our atelier, all cutting is performed by hand with master scissors to preserve the natural direction of the fabric fibers. Mediha Cambaz personally reviews and approves the pattern placement of every critical design in the cutting room.
6. Sewing and Assembly
The cut pieces are transferred to the sewing department. The internal corsetry, structural components, and outer layers that give the wedding dress its form are crafted separately. During this delicate stage, a specialized micro-team of 3–4 pattern makers and tailors works in complete harmony. To protect the delicate nature of luxury fabrics, we combine traditional hand sewing with precise machine stitching rather than relying solely on industrial speed.
7. Embellishment and Detailing
This is the stage where lace motifs are individually cut and placed, beadwork is applied, and draping techniques come to life. Draping—the art of shaping fabric—is one of Mediha Cambaz’s signature areas of expertise. All of our embellishments are handmade, and depending on the complexity of the design, the decorative details alone may require between 40 and 120 hours of pure craftsmanship. Personalized details such as initials, symbols, or meaningful family heirloom stones can also be incorporated upon request.
8. Digitally Supported Fittings
Once the wedding dress takes shape, three main fittings are usually conducted. Each fitting is synchronized live between the showroom and the atelier through a digital connection.
1st Fitting (Measurement Fitting): This is the first stage where we evaluate how the personalized pattern fits the body, achieve anatomical harmony, and finalize couture details such as the neckline, back depth, and corset balance together with our bride.
2nd Fitting (Silhouette & Details Fitting): This is the most crucial stage, where your wedding dress is approximately 80% complete. The overall silhouette appears, while lace placements, embellishments, and skirt shape are finalized. Since this fitting directly affects the length and posture of the dress, the bride must attend this fitting and the final fitting with the exact shoes she will wear on her wedding day. The veil selection is also made together during this stage.
3rd Fitting (Final): This is the moment when the completed wedding dress with all final touches is checked in its entirety. A walking test is performed, and the hem length and overall posture are adjusted with millimetric precision. During this fitting, the bride wears her veil for the first time and experiences the feeling of her wedding day inside our showroom.
9. Final Quality Control, Farewell, and Delivery
Once all fittings are completed, the wedding dress undergoes a final microscopic quality inspection. Stitch durability, internal comfort structures, and lace connection points are carefully examined one by one. Your wedding dress is delivered in a specially protected garment bag that preserves its form. For online orders, our custom packaging system ensures that the gown maintains its shape and condition even during international transportation.
